Project Challenge
Welcome to the Woodford Reserve Sensory Lounge at De Gaulle Airport – a space that redefines the concept of luxury and relaxation for travelers passing through this bustling hub. Our retail studio was entrusted with the task of designing an immersive and sophisticated lounge for Woodford Reserve, one of the world’s finest bourbon brands. The challenges we faced were significant, but our design proposal rose to meet them head-on.
Project Challenges:
- Airport Traffic: De Gaulle Airport is one of Europe’s busiest airports, which meant creating an oasis of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of international travel. Our challenge was to make the Woodford Reserve Sensory Lounge a serene escape for passengers.
- Brand Identity Integration: Woodford Reserve is known for its rich heritage and commitment to craftsmanship. Our design needed to reflect the brand’s essence while providing an engaging and unforgettable experience.
- Space Limitations: Space within the airport was limited, and we needed to make the most of every square foot to maximize customer engagement and comfort.
- Compliance: As an airport lounge, our design needed to adhere to all international regulations and airport security standards.
Design Proposal
Our design proposal for the Woodford Reserve Sensory Lounge at De Gaulle Airport focused on creating a multi-sensory experience that embodies the essence of the brand. Here’s an overview of the design elements:
- Whiskey Barrel Ceiling: The lounge’s ceiling is adorned with a canopy of whiskey barrels, providing a visual representation of Woodford Reserve’s aging process and heritage.
- Sensory Tasting Bar: We’ve created a central tasting bar where travelers can sample Woodford Reserve’s exceptional range of bourbons. The bar is equipped with interactive touchscreens that provide information on each variant and guide customers through a sensory tasting journey.
- Bourbon Barrel Furniture: The lounge is furnished with elegant bourbon barrel-inspired seating arrangements, offering comfort and a nod to the brand’s craftsmanship.
- Greenery and Tranquility: We’ve introduced living green walls and carefully selected plants to bring a touch of nature to the space, enhancing the feeling of relaxation.
- Sensory Journey Pods: These pods provide travelers with an immersive sensory experience, from the sound of Kentucky’s flowing streams to the aroma of aging bourbon barrels. It’s an enticing way to immerse oneself in the brand’s heritage.
- Private Tasting Rooms: For a more intimate experience, we’ve designed private tasting rooms where customers can enjoy guided tastings and educational sessions.
- Art Installations: Throughout the lounge, we’ve incorporated art installations that pay homage to the bourbon-making process, from the distillery to the bottle.
- Compliance and Security: We’ve worked closely with airport authorities to ensure that the lounge complies with all necessary regulations without compromising the design’s aesthetics.
In summary, our retail studio took on the challenge of designing the Woodford Reserve Sensory Lounge at De Gaulle Airport with a commitment to delivering a sensory experience that truly transports travelers to the heart of Kentucky’s bourbon country. This space invites exploration, relaxation, and a deep appreciation of the Woodford Reserve brand, ensuring that every visitor departs with a lasting memory of the Woodford Reserve Sensory Lounge.
